Summer Rising 2026

Overview
A partnership between the New York City Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), Summer Rising will connect elementary and middle school students to fun, culturally relevant, and hands-on experiences that strengthen their academic, social, and emotional skills. Programming will include academics led by DOE staff and enrichment activities led by DYCD Community Based Organizations (CBOs).

July 1st - August 14th
  • P.S. 215's Summer Rising program with NYJTL will be held at:
    P.S. 153
    1970 Homecrest Avenue
    • March 3 – Summer Rising application opens
    • March 27 – Summer Rising application closes.
    • April 21 – Summer Rising Results.
    • May 5 – Acceptance Deadline.
     
    Program Schedule July 1st - August 14th
      DOE DYCD
    Monday - Thursday 8am - 12pm 12pm - 6pm
    Friday   8am - 6pm
     
    Program Schedule August 10th - August 14th
      DYCD
    Monday - Friday  8am - 6pm
     
    Morning Dropoff begins at 7:45am
     
    Pickup Times:
    12:00pm
    3:00pm (Afternoon bus)
    6:00pm (Final dismissal time)
     
    Please notify the staff if someone other than the parent will be picking your child up. Photo ID is required.
     
    Breakfast, Lunch and Snack Will Be Provided
